Francisco José de Caldas Colombian University integrates the Forum IP SPLIT console in its studios.

The project has been carried out with distributor AVCOM and integrator MERGE.

Francisco José de Caldas University in Bogotá, Colombia, has been training students from all over the country since 1948, and from now on, students of the journalism degree can enjoy renovated radio studios, with AEQ technology.

Students complete their training by doing a radio internship at a real radio station, called LAUD 90.4FM, which can be heard on campus and on various online platforms.

For the renovation of the radio studios to digital, a FORUM IP SPLIT digital console (20 faders version) with 64 DANTE channels has been installed. This allows the students to practice with a broadcast console and acquire the appropriate technical skills to enter the professional market. The console incorporates all the basic features needed in broadcast environments: automatic monitor cut, cough cut, faderstart, signalling control, control signals for the automation of external equipment, management of external communications, intercommunication...

Furthermore, the installation has been provided with the FORUM SCREEN software, which allows an extended and graphic display of the parameters of use, and the VIRTUAL software, which allows remote control.

The system is completed by the NETBOX 4MH interface for increased performance, providing high quality microphone inputs and headphone outputs, via an IP network over Dante protocol.

This project would not have been possible without the help of the distributor AVCOM and further integration with MERGE.
