Firmware Update Adds New Features to Tascam’s Sonicview Digital Consoles.

Tascam has announced a major firmware update for the company’s Sonicview 16 and Sonicview 24 digital mixing consoles. The v1.4.1 update includes several enhancements that are intended to simplify the operation of the mixers and at the same time increase their functionality.

Improvements by category are as follows:

o    All buttons on the built-in recorder/player
o    Direct playback function of the internal player (track number selection and playback)
o    Insert on/off for each module

Other

Bug fixes and stability improvements.

Tascam IF-MTR32

Tascam is also releasing an update to the Sonicview Control app (v1.4.0), which adds remote control capability for the new features, as well as a firmware update (v1.11) for the IF-MTR32 multi-track recording card that addresses issues in certain situations when overdubbing and offers better stability.

Tascam Sonicview consoles integrate beautifully into the most sophisticated production environments thanks to their 64-channel Dante interface, a multi-channel USB audio interface (32-bit float, 96 kHz), Class 1 premium mic preamplifiers, and a wealth of inputs and outputs. A 54-bit float FPGA mixing engine, continuous high-definition sampling at 96 kHz, and 32-bit analogue-to-digital converters make it possible to flexibly change levels without compromising resolution. According to Tascam, the FPGA ensures ultra-low latency of 0.51 milliseconds, even in analogue-to-analogue connections, resulting in outstanding performance.
