Radio listeners in the Schwerin region enjoy more programs and significantly better reception.

A KATHREIN DAB + special antenna recently went into operation in the state capital of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

The transmitter location Schwerin in the far north of Germany near the Baltic Sea coast was a great challenge for the antenna specialist KATHREIN. The old DAB transmitting antenna had to be replaced by a new special construction in the hard-to-reach GRP protective cylinder at the top of the almost 250 meter-high transmission mast, which was already fully packed with technology, in order to make it fit for additional DAB+ programs.

The DAB+ antenna is at the top in the GRP cylinder

KATHREIN Broadcast GmbH received the order for this turnkey construction project from the broadcast operator, MEDIA BROADCAST GmbH. After almost two years of precise planning, this project has now entered the final phase with the installation and commissioning of the DAB+ transmitting antenna.

More than 30 DAB+ radio programs can now also be received "in-house" in Schwerin and in top quality. This also includes 8 programs from NDR (Nord-deutscher Rundfunk).
