Flagship digital radio event set for 20 November in Antwerp, Belgium.



WorldDAB Summit 2025 will convene broadcast leaders and digital radio experts from across the globe in Antwerp on 20 November to explore how DAB+ is powering the business of broadcast.

Jacqueline Bierhorst, President of WorldDAB

Opening the event, Jacqueline Bierhorst, President of WorldDAB – the global industry forum for DAB+ digital radio – will share insights into the continued global growth of DAB+. The last 12 months having seen new launches and rollouts in Estonia, Türkiye, Luxembourg and Greece, while markets including Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, and several countries across Africa have made significant progress.

In a keynote panel, Jonathan Wall, Director, BBC Sounds and Charles-Emmanuel Bon, Secretary General, Radio France will join journalist and former Arcom board member Hervé Godechot to discuss how major public broadcasters are delivering public value through the launch of new stations on DAB+.

The summit will also spotlight commercial DAB+ success stories from around the world:

Usha Parmar, CEO Sunrise Radio

• Petra Lemcke, CEO and Founder of Sunshine Live, one of Germany’s fastest-growing stations, will share how DAB+ has helped expand its listener base.
• From the UK, Usha Parmar (CEO) and Raj Parmar (Director) of Sunrise Radio will showcase how a pioneering Asian radio station has expanded its coverage and launched new services with DAB, and has now partnered in developing new multiplexes – including in London.

From the host country of Belgium, Els Van de Sijpe, Head of Radio, VRT and Chair of Digitalradio Vlanderen, and Eric Adelbrecht, CEO of maRadio.be, will explore how collaboration and clear strategy can accelerate DAB+. They will present fresh data from Flanders and French-speaking Belgium.

Laura Fisher, Entertainment Analyst at MiDIA Research

On the future of radio, Laura Fisher, Entertainment Analyst at MiDIA Research, will tackle one of the industry's most talked-about topics: AI in radio. She will argue that in an automated world, authentic human connection becomes a scarce and increasingly valuable commodity.

Meanwhile, Katerina Borovska, Senior Manager – Marketing & Innovation, EGTA, will make the case that with its unmatched reach, trusted voices, and innovative tools like AI and dynamic audio, radio continues to lead the audio revolution and deliver impact for brands.

The automotive sector will also be in focus, with insights from Tomas Granryd (Radio Ready), Laurence Harrison (Chief Partnerships Officer, Radioplayer Worldwide), and George Cernat (Senior Director, Automotive Connected Media / DTS AutoStage, Xperi) on how the industry is ensuring the continued prominence of radio and DAB+ in the car.

WorldDAB Summit 2025 will be held in-person at DPG Media, in the heart of Antwerp, Belgium. Registration is now open on the WorldDAB website, and video recordings of sessions will be made available shortly after the event.
