Our new OPUS database gives you the rules in each EU country aimed at boosting EU works!
European media law includes certain measures to boost EU produced films, series and TV programmes. It's the Audiovisual Media Services Directive (AVMSD) which contains specific articles - Articles 13 (1 , 2, and 6), 16 and 17 - on the promotion of European and independent works.
But how has each European country included these rules in its own national media law? What are the different national approaches?
OPUS database allows you to make the following searches:
- How is each article of the AVMSD applied in each country?
- What quotas apply to VOD and linear services in each country?
- Where can I find the text of the national legislation concerning each article?
OPUS database covers all EU countries plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland and the UK. You can also export an overview of all measures applied in each individual country as an EXCEL table. OPUS also contains links to each piece of national legislation in the language of the respective country.
How are European countries promoting their own audiovisual works?
OPUS has the answers!
