South African station Radio Mahikeng selects AEQ FORUM digital consoles for its central studios.

Radio Mahikeng already had a forum console for years and has decided to trust aeq technology again to renew its studios.

Radio Mahikeng is the most important station for Mahikeng culture in South Africa. It is a station that pays special attention to gospel, kwaito, and reggae music; in addition to programs that reflects the reality of its community, with multiple information, entertainment, events and sports coverage.

Since its creation in 2008, Radio Mahikeng has achieved a very loyal listener base thanks to its broadcasts on 96.7FM and online for the whole world from its website. More than 140,000 daily listeners and 33,000 followers on Facebook attest to its success to date in the South African region of Ngaka-Modri Molerna.

Radio Mahikeng has traditionally been a happy customer of AEQ technology since it has had an AEQ FORUM console for many years in its first broadcast studio. And now that the company's management has decided to update and expand its central studios, it has renewed its confidence in AEQ by including a new AEQ FORUM IP in its new ON AIR studio.

AEQ FORUM IP is a mixing console designed for ON AIR broadcast control. It incorporates all the basic features necessary in this type of environment: automatic monitor cut-off, cough cut, faderstart, signalling control, control signals for the automation of external equipment, external communications management, intercom, etc. With modular design and reduced size, AEQ FORUM IP adapts perfectly to different scenarios: self-control, control-booth, television production controls, sound production, mixed configurations, integration in large installations, etc.

The entire installation has been executed by AEQ's local partner in South Africa, Buck Broadcast, in coordination with AEQ's central services in Madrid-Spain.
