Power Hit Radio is an Estonian radio station specializing in dance music, operated by Mediainvest Holding AS. With a network of transmitters covering the whole country, it broadcasts in Tallinn (102.1 FM), Pärnu (103.9 FM), Tartu (89.7 FM), Rakvere (92.5 FM) and Viljandi (105.4 FM). In addition, its signal is available globally through its online streaming service.
Power Hit Radio began broadcasting in 2000, focusing exclusively on the city of Tallinn with a focus on progressive dance music, played by DJs using vinyl. In the autumn of the same year, the station adopted the name Tele 2 Power Hit Radio and began a stage of transformation: DJs began to intervene between songs and the musical programming diversified, covering not only progressive dance, but also other genres within dance music, including urban and pop sounds. This format, which has been maintained to this day, has been consolidated with excellent audience results.
In its most recent technological renovation, the technical management of Power Hit Radio chose to incorporate the AEQ FORUM SPLIT digital console in its main broadcast studio. The choice, made through the integrator BROADCAST SOLUTIONS, responded to criteria such as ease of use, operational robustness and high audio quality of the equipment. The AEQ FORUM IP is a mixing console specially designed for live broadcast control (ONAIR), which integrates all the essential functionalities for this type of environment: automatic monitor cut, cough function, fader activation (faderstart), signaling control, signal generation for the automation of external equipment, external communications management and intercom, among others.
Thanks to its modular design and compact size, the AEQ FORUM console easily adapts to a wide variety of operating environments, including self-monitoring studios, call centers, TV production controls, audio production, hybrid setups and even large-scale installations. The AEQ FORUM IP console combines a simple interface with a high control capacity, allowing it to meet both the most basic operational needs and the most advanced requirements. Its FORUM IP SPLIT version incorporates the modular FR CORE engine, housed in a three rack unit chassis, and can be configured with up to six quad fader modules, plus a dedicated control and monitoring unit.
The AEQ FORUM console offers extensive connectivity options, being able to be equipped with multichannel audio over IP (AoIP) input and output cards, compatible with the AES67 protocol through DANTE technology. This integration allows interoperability with consoles, routers and input and output equipment from more than 300 different manufacturers, thus facilitating a highly flexible and scalable working environment. Alternatively, it is also possible to opt for MADI connectivity. In addition, the console can incorporate up to two internal digital telephone hybrids, further extending its ability to integrate into professional broadcast environments.
