The national television of Mauritius relies again on the digital console AEQ Atrium.

Two new production studios will feature AEQ Audio technology.



The Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) is the national public broadcaster of the Republic of Mauritius founded in 1964. MBC's headquarters are located in Réduit, Moka, and it also operates a station in Rodrigues. MBC programmes are broadcast in 12 languages, including French, Creole, English, Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Chinese and Hakka. MBC currently offers 17 TV channels in Mauritius, 4 in Rodrigues and 2 in remote Agaléga, as well as 7 radio channels in total.

Currently the MBC television studio A in Moka already had an AEQ ATRIUM digital audio console of 36 faders for its usual work, and now the Technical Management of the company has opted again for the same mixer for the renewal of the C and TV_NEWS studios.

In each of both studios has been installed an AEQ ATRIUM console with 12 faders including Loudness meter and remote control via tablet with the VirtualAtrium license.



ATRIUM is the 3rd generation of AEQ digital consoles for ON AIR applications and for large format audio production, for broadcast environments with higher technical requirements and more intensive workflows.

AEQ ATRIUM incorporates the technology available today to the maximum. IP audio systems allow inputs and outputs, process and control, distributed in different devices, sometimes being very distant physically. On the other hand, the convergence of audio and video over IP is becoming a reality.

An important feature of MBC's ATRIUM consoles is that, through specific input and output cards, they have a great capacity for interconnection in any current or foreseeable audio format at MBC, such as analog inputs for line and condenser and dynamic microphones; analog line or headphone outputs; AES/EBU digital inputs and outputs; multichannel audio inputs and outputs embedded in SDI video; AES10 MADI multi-channel synchronous audio inputs and outputs; AES67 multi-channel audio inputs and outputs in native or Dante format, including SMPTE ST 2110-30; AES67 multi-channel audio inputs and outputs in native or RAVENNA format, including SMPTE ST 2110-30 and SMPTE ST 2110-31. Furthermore, if any other format is used in the future, AEQ will be able to develop the corresponding card for its integration into the consoles.

In addition, within AEQ ATRIUM, different sets of tools based on the most modern technology have been developed to generate a new concept, where the different components of the system can build combined functionalities, far superior to those that each of these components separately could contribute. All this, in addition, with a great simplicity of configuration and integration within a system, which can easily extend beyond the walls of a production center to, for example, connect to external events or other production centers, permanently or temporarily, as part of a network of stations, within a multichannel AoIP system of the necessary dimension.

Console and Multiconference Terminal Studio TV News

The supply is completed with a multiconference audio system over IP AEQ SYSTEL-IP, to provide services to coodinación calls in both studios.  SYSTEL IP is a broadcast telephony system with multiconference, which drastically reduces the cost of communications, significantly improves quality, increases flexibility and integration with the telephone system of each station. It is a very low investment, with a quick amortization. SYSTEL IP allows you to connect broadcast telephony to current IP-based corporate switchboards, avoiding maintaining exclusive conventional lines for broadcasts.

SYSTEL-IP is the third generation of AEQ multiconferencing systems developed in the last 30 years, is based on a digital matrix, and uses only IP lines, with a flexible and dynamic control, which simultanea the format of call queues with the multiplex console, for greater convenience of all users.
