András István DEMETER - the new President Director General of the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation ( 18.07.2010 | 10:44:02 ) The handover ceremony of the mandate at the head of the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation, from the former President Director General Mrs. Maria ŢOGHINĂ to Mr. András István DEMETER, newly appointed to this position, took place on the 2nd of July 2010, during a meeting with the company’s management. “I hope to gain really soon your confidence, the confidence of the public radio’s employees so that we may act together as a team and our combined experiences may add more value to the public service radio” said András István DEMETER during his meeting with the managerial team of Radio Romania. The new President added that he wanted to continue the successes of the Romanian public radio at the European level and to create together with the employees a company able to reflect the challenges of the XXIst century, both in editorial and managerial terms. “Our objective remains to observe exactly the mission of this public service, to preserve unaltered its independence, values and principles to which our audience has been used from the very beginning and to bring the young listeners as close as possible. Radio Romania will continue to promote culture, to educate the audience and to give prompt and equidistant information.” During the meeting, the managers of Radio Romania thanked Maria ŢOGHINĂ for the balanced way she had led the public radio during the previous five years and they expressed their confidence that the organizational development projects would be pursued in the years to come. “I wish the new management every success and I am confident that it will follow the same way we took five years ago, a way meant to bring the Romanian public radio at the level of the most modern and competitive public service radios in Europe.” Maria ŢOGHINĂ, President Director General of Radio Romania between June 27th 2005 and June 30th 2010, is now a member of the Administration Council and holds, within Radio Romania, a position that allows her expertise to bring added value to our public radio.
